Travel by air or train to St. Ives

Not sure whether to drive down to Cornwall? Newquay is just some 30 miles away from St. Ives and an increasing number of flights now fly into Newquay's small and pleasant airport. For flight info see www.newquaycornwallairport.com. Flights are presently available from London Gatwick, London Stanstead, Manchester, Leeds Bradford, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Dublin, Cork & Belfast with airlines ryanair, bmi baby, airsouthwest and flybe. Car hire from Newquay is readily available from Newquay airport - please ask us for links. For train travel click onto www.nationalrail.co.uk to plan your route with local time tables available from www.wessextrains.co.uk. The train station in St. Ives is directly aside Porthminster Beach and just a few minutes walk from the apartment. If you have heavy suit cases, then taxis are available at the train station at most times to take you on the very short journey from the train station right to the door step of 'Happy Days'.

Travel by road to St. Ives

For those travelling by car from the North exit the M5 at J31 and take the A30 all the way down to St. Ives following the signs for Launceston, Redruth & Penzance. At Loggans Roundabout continue to follow the signs for Penzance not Hayle and at the next roundabout take the A3074 sign posted St. Ives. You will start to pass through the white washed houses and palm fringed gardens of Lelant and Carbis Bay with sea glimpses inviting you forward towards 'Happy Days'. Take the A3074 all the way into St. Ives. On approaching the town the road forks left and right. Take the left onto Albert Road and then next left onto Talland Road. Lyonesse Apartments are a few metres along on the right hand side. Drive past the apartments and take your next right which brings you to the rear of the apartments and to your dedicated parking space.

Out and about around St. Ives

On visiting St. Ives many will park-up for the duration of their holiday and enjoy the amenities that this special place has to offer, within walking distant from 'Happy Days'. However, close-by attractions may also beckon. St Michaels Mount is a true treasure of Cornwall. It is just a short drive away. Sited on an island a few hundred metres off-shore from the ancient town of Marazion, the castle is now owned by the National Trust and is accessed at low tide by a granite causeway or by ferry at high tide. The Eden Project is a major UK attraction. It is a living theatre of plants and people built on the site of a huge former china clay pit- ask us for link. Lands End, The Minnack Theatre, The Isles of Scilly, Godrevy Lighthouse, Mousehole, Perranporth, Porthcurno,Truro, The Gardens of Cornwall, Newquay's Blue Reef Aquarium & Zoo, Goonhill Earth Station, The National Seal Sanctuary, Flambards Theme Park & so much more are all within easy reach.
